Today our topic is, Words Matter!
life and death are in the words we speak.
The words you speak matter, they exhibit the truth of what you believe, and they have the power to take you where you want to go in life.
Let’s take a look at what the Bible has to say regarding our words.
Let’s turn to Proverbs 18:21
The NKJV reads like this;
Life and death are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it, will eat it’s fruits.
Now let’s also read it in the Passion Translation,
Your words are so powerful, that they will kill, or give life, and the talkative person will reap the consequences.
The words we speak, come from our heart before they land on our tongue.
Physically speaking, words can bring life through encouragement and they can bring hope to a hopeless situation.
Physical death can also be the result of hateful words, or words spoken in rage or anger.
Emotionally speaking, our words can have profound impact on other peoples hearts.
Proverbs 15:4, in the Amplified Bible says, A soothing tongue ( speaking words that build up and encourage) is a tree of life, but a perversive tongue, ( speaking words that overwhelm, and depress) crush the spirit.
The power in your tongue, is ruled by your choice. Humans are the only creation of God, that have the ability to choose their words.
So the way to choose life, and take control of our tongue, is deeply rooted in Jesus.
He is the way, the truth, and the life, as well as the Word made flesh.
He taught us that the way to tame our tongues, is by paying attention to what’s in our hearts.
Luke 6:45 says, A good person produces good things, from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things, from the treasury of an evil heart.
What you say flows from what’s in your heart.
So let’s really pay attention to every word we speak, and use words that will empower, and give life to ourselves, and to those around us.
Let’s just say a quick prayer together,
Lord, I ask that you would help us to only speak words of life, words that would lift up, and not tear down.
Words that would empower us to make a difference in the lives of those around us, I pray this in Jesus name, amen.

Do you ever wonder why you were created? Let’s find out how to be empowered to our destiny.
It’s so easy to get so busy in our everyday lives that we don’t take the time we should to spend time with God.
Spending time with God, and in His Word (the Bible), enables us to hear what he’s saying to us, so we can be lead by His Holy Spirit, in everything we do.
It also strengthens our faith to do the things he calls us to do; that we are not capable of doing in our own strength. This is turn leads us into the destiny that we are created to fulfill in our time here on earth.
Have you ever stopped to think about why you were created, or if there’s a great purpose for your existence, but you’re not sure what it could be?
The Bible tells us that there was a book written about each of us, before we ever existed!
How amazing is that? We were all created for a specific time, and for a specific purpose.
Psalm 139:16 in the New King James Version says this: “Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in your book, they were all written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet, there were none of them.
The Passion Bible says it this way: You saw who you created me to be, before I become me! Before I’d ever seen the light of day, the number of days you’d planned for me, were already recorded in your book.
Now, I don’t know about you but I get excited just knowing that God created me with a plan, and a purpose, for a specific time on this earth. So how do we find out what that plan is?
We find it out be spending time in the Word of God, the Bible, and by praying and seeking God’s heart for His plans and the purpose for our life. A great way to do this, is by starting each day by putting God first, by reading His Word, praying, and seeking His will. This will open our spiritual eyes and ears, so we can sense and discern what He is saying. So let’s not waste another day, by not pressing in and pursuing what He has empowered us to do through Him!
Why not pray this prayer? Lord, I ask you to empower me to be all you created me to be. I ask for your grace, wisdom, and strength, as I seek your perfect will for my life. I ask for your Holy Spirit to come alongside me and direct me and help me. Thank you Lord Jesus. In Your Holy Name I pray this believing for you to help me. Amen!
Thank you for visiting my blog and for your kind comments, donations, and frequent visits!
Until next time, God bless you!
