Perfect Peace

Sometimes it’s easy to feel overwhelmed with all the craziness that’s going on around us, and in the world. The only way you can obtain true peace, is through God.

Today we are going to talk about peace… God’s peace, which is much different then any other peace you’ll be able to find in the world, because God’s peace, is perfect peace.

There are so many great verses in the Bible that talk about peace. I would encourage you, that whenever you feel like you’ve lost your peace, when everything is chaotic around you, take some time to sit down, and read some of these verses, and you will begin to feel a peace, and a calmness come over you.

One of my favourite verses on peace would be found in John 14:27. I’m going to read it in the NKJV first, it reads like this;

Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.

And now let’s read it in the Passion Translation: It reads like this:

I leave the gift of peace with you-my peace. Not the kind of fragile peace given by the world, but my perfect peace.

Don’t yield to fear or be troubled in your hearts-instead be courageous!

Let’s also read Psalm 4:8 in the NKJV;

“I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; for You alone , O Lord, make me dwell in safety.”

In life, we will all face times when we feel uncomfortable and unsettled with the circumstances we’re facing. By focusing on God’s Word, [the Bible] we will be able to obtain a peaceful mindset that will help us find the strength and comfort to go through whatever circumstances we face.

Let me say a prayer of peace over you before we end today,

Lord, I pray for everyone that is listening to this teaching, I ask that you would remove any fear and anxiety that tries to overwhelm and overtake, and I ask that you would replace it with peace that passes all understanding, perfect peace, that only you can give.

I thank you that you are bigger than any situation we might face in life. I pray this in Jesus mighty name, amen.
